Craig Wilson

Craig Wilson, J.D., Ph.D., serves as Vice Provost for Online, Distance and Continuing Education and is a Professor of Practice at the University of Arizona. Wilson strives to broaden access to quality education programs to learners from around the world. Throughout his career, Wilson has led educational enterprises that spanned multiple campuses, outreach centers, and online. His background in online education started in the 1990s, and he has been actively involved in each phase of its growth since then. He has served in multiple capacities including as an instructional designer, faculty member, and administrator at a variety of institutional types from K-12 to university levels.

Dr. Wilson is a tireless advocate for resource-challenged rural and urban students to help them meet their academic goals and life pursuits. He is a combat veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and understands the importance of providing the highest quality online programs to our military members and their families. Wilson is also a member of UPCEA, a nationally recognized institution in the fields of professional, continuing and online education for adult learners, where he serves on its Council of Chief Online Learning Officers. His current research involves the intersection of the upcoming metaverse with higher education and has created a Metaversity Framework (#metaversityframework).
