entrepreneurship week day 2: Eship Ecosystem

In celebration of National Entrepreneurship Week, FORGE is bringing you an entire week of opportunities and resources, with each day highlighting a different area. For day 2, we will be feature resources within the Tucson Eship Ecosystem.

When we think of progress, we often think of solitude. Nikola Tesla tinkering away in his Colorado Springs laboratory amid cracking ropes of electricity. Marie Curie hovering, focused, over a bunsen burner. Martin Luther King Jr. penning his letter from a dingy cell in Birmingham Jail. It may be true that no man is an island; however, in the business of changing the world, it sure can appear -- and feel -- that way.

Luckily, we have Tucson, and Tucson knows a thing or two about building new things and bringing ideas to life. Here are a few helpful resources for finding your way and finding your tribe:
For finding your feet, there is no better resource than the Tucson Entrepreneur Ecosystem Guide. Powered by Startup Tucson with help from the Southern Arizona Leadership Council, this veritable treasure trove offers a comprehensive overview of the groups, organizations and companies that make up Tucson's innovation network.

While we're talking about Startup Tucson -- and who isn't! -- you'll want to subscribe to their monthly or weekly newsletter. In addition to Startup Fundamentals, an introductory program for new and aspiring entrepreneurs from all walks of life, they offer programs and resources for growing and scaling your business, food entrepreneurship, and computer science, plus lots of fun opportunities to hobnob with like-minded people.

Pandemic conditions have made socializing difficult -- especially for the tech folk among us. If you feel like you live behind a screen, The New Pueblo and Tucson Game Developers host lively online communities on Slack and Discord respectively, and both are tentatively planning in-person gatherings later in the year.

Efforts to create a one-stop shop for tech and entrepreneurial events are underway on Meetup.com with the creation of the Tucson Entrepreneurship Master Calendar and the Tucson Tech Community Master Calendar, maintained by FORGE. Join and be part of the growing collective. If you're an event organizer and would like to begin listing your events for free, contact Aleshia Howell at FORGE.

That's a wrap for today! We will be back tomorrow with Day 3, Federal & Gov't Eship day.
