Find Your FORGE in Phoenix
FORGE provides venture resources throughout Arizona with three locations on the main University of Arizona campus in Tucson and locations in downtown Tucson, Phoenix and Yuma. FORGE (Finding Opportunities and Resources to Grow Entrepreneurs) is a unique entrepreneurial community that combines startup acceleration alongside experiential student and community education. Each week we will be profiling a different FORGE location to share the resources available.
This week, get to know our Phoenix location - FORGE at Phoenix Bioscience Core (PBC)!
Located at the University of Arizona College of Medicine Phoenix campus, FORGE at PBC hosts two mentors, Flora Tromelin and Ben Maurey. Ben Maurey is a strategy consultant in biotechnology with a strong focus on developing and commercializing cancer therapeutics and is one of the Mentors in Residence helping with the selection process for our Biomedical Entrepreneur Startup Scholarship and Residency. Flora Tromelin is the founder and CEO of FCT Strategies, an LLC located in Phoenix, Arizona. and an expert in public affairs and communication.
When asked about what she enjoys about being a mentor, Flora Tromelin explained “I love to give and find ideas out of the box that can help people in the long term. There is nothing better than feeling that you have made a difference. But, being a mentor is not a selfless task: I receive so much more. Students and partners with an entrepreneurial mindset always come with brilliant new ideas. It is always an inspiration to me.” Get to know the FORGE team at Phoenix Bioscience Core (PBC) over a complimentary lunch at the November 30th L(a)unch at PBC where FORGE will be joined by Tech Launch Arizona and BIO5.
For onsite mentoring, meet Flora Tromelin every other Thursday from 10am-12pm or Ben Maurey every other Monday from 3pm-5pm. The office is located in the Biomedical Sciences Partnership Building, Room E964A – 475 N. 5th Street, Phoenix, AZ. Visitors are asked to check in at Health Sciences Education Building – 435 N. 5th Street.

November CrEATe Cafe with Brach Drew
Aspiring content creators, influencers, and artists! Join us for lunch and leave inspired to create! UArizona student and RA Brach Drew inspires good vibes through hardship with his STAY YELLOW campaign. Come hear him speak on "climbing mountains" and how he teaches others to live every day with a healthy mindset.
Brach Drew is a yellow croc amongst a closet full of grey loafers. The status quo never fits so he uses his bubbly extroverted persona to uplift and advocate for a changed world where people like him aren't so "kookie" and "crazy". Brach lives by the mantra "Stay Yellow". Constructed in his early high school years, "Stay Yellow" is a challenge to actively use hardships in life to your advantage. "Stay Yellow" pushes people to live through struggles and obstacles in a way that benefits them instead of affecting them negatively.
