Curiosity Club Thursday March 23 9-10am

At this month's Curiosity Club, hear from “E” Elizabeth Locke-Thomas, Chief Mission Delivery Officer for Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona

The Girl Scout Cookie Program isn’t just about providing customers with tasty treats; it’s the foundation of an entrepreneurial experience. Selling cookies gives millions of Girl Scouts across the country the ability to power unique learning opportunities and adventures for themselves and their troops, even in challenging times. The Cookie Program helps Girl Scouts develop an Entrepreneurial Mindset.

But what does it mean to adopt an entrepreneurial mindset? We know entrepreneurs as leaders, individuals who create businesses or invent new products—constantly thinking of innovative ways to improve what currently exists. The thought of being your own boss, leading a team of like-minded people, and pursuing your passions to make the world a better place. The Girl Scout Research Institute reports that 91% of all Girl Scouts have some interest in becoming an entrepreneur!

With the Cookie Program, Girl Scouts is paving the way for millions of girls across the United States, preparing them for a lifetime of leadership. By encouraging girls to take on an entrepreneurial mindset and build business skills, we’re not just preparing them for success in the marketplace, but also giving them the tools to solve problems, be innovative and flexible thinkers, collaborate with others, and be resilient while they reach for their dreams.

Liz Pocock will moderate the conversation with "E", talking about what it takes for women to find success as entrepreneurs and how programs like this are critical at a very early age. Recognized as a Tucson Women of Influence Rising Star, Liz is the CEO of Startup Tucson an organization working to transform our region’s economy through entrepreneurship and innovation by helping to grow a strong, vibrant startup ecosystem of companies, entrepreneurs, and talent in Tucson.

Please join us for this important discussion about how we can support women entrepreneurs at every stage of their journey.
